NASCAR Bristol 2012: Start Time, Starting Lineup, TV Channel Listings, Live Streaming Info And More

It’s NASCAR race night at Bristol Motor Speedway, and we’ve got the actual race start time, the starting lineup and some other facts about Saturday’s race for you below.
What time does the race start? Track official Scott Hatcher will give the command to fire engines at 7:40 p.m. ET. After a few pace laps, the green flag will wave at 7:45 p.m. So if you want to skip the pre-race show and just tune in for the actual race, flip on your TV sets at 7:45 p.m. ET.
Race name/distance: The Irwin Tools Night Race is one of the most famous events on NASCAR’s schedule. Bristol holds two Sprint Cup Series races per year, but only one is at night – and it used to be one of the hottest tickets in all of sports. The event is 500 laps around the 0.533-mile track for a total of 266.5 miles.
TV, radio and live streaming: The race can be seen onABC, but it is not available in all areas due to preseason football. To find out if your area is affected and to see alternate viewing plans, click hereThere IS NO live streaming of the race today on Race Buddy or the Watch ESPN app because the race is on ABC. If you’ll be away from your computer and TV, check the Performance Racing Network’s web site for a list of affiliate radio stations in your area.
National anthem: Children of drivers and crew members will join together to sing the national anthem tonight. That takes place after Bristol’s famed driver introductions, which unfortunately won’t be seen on TV. But we’ll have a full list of the drivers’ songs back here during the race.
Tickets: Bristol is still a popular race, but it’s not the hot ticket it once was. The race is not expected to sell out tonight, so there WILL be tickets available at the door if you’re thinking of making a last-minute trip.
Weather: The unofficial NASCAR weatherman, Brian Neudorff, says the weather should be mostly dry and pleasant, though he notes there’s a chance of an isolated storm again. A few storms popped up on Friday unexpectedly and washed out qualifying, which remains a possibility for tonight’s race as well.
Last time: One year ago, Brad Keselowski won at Bristol despite a broken ankle. Then, in March, Keselowski made it two in a row with another Bristol victory. In tonight’s race, he’ll continue the “Blue Deuce” tradition by driving a Rusty Wallace throwback paint scheme.
Starting lineup for tonight’s NASCAR race at Bristol:

TRB Webinar: Developments in Non-Traditional Stabilizers
TRB Webinar: Developments in Non-Traditional Stabilizers
TRB will conduct a webinar on August 1, 2012, from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. ET that will examine non-traditional road dust palliatives and soil stabilizers that may be cost-effective, long-lasting, and environmentally considerate alternatives. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor employees. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual.
The webinar is based on presentations given at a session titled Developments in Non-Traditional Stabilizers at the 10th International Low Volume Roads Conference held on July 26, 2011.
Road dust palliatives and soil stabilizers such as magnesium and calcium chloride, lignosulphonate, or blends of these are examples of traditional stabilizers considered to be generic products. Their use and performance is well accepted and understood. An emerging non-traditional group of other, usually proprietary products may be cost-effective, long-lasting, and environmentally considerate alternatives to the traditional set. This webinar identifies some of these products, shows how they can effectively be used, and documents their performance. Also, to provide industry credibility, standardization of supplies and verification tests, and government procurement options, this webinar will discuss an idea to establish an industry association.
Participants must register at least 24 hours prior to the start of the webinar, space is limited.

TRB Webinar: Overview and Current Practice of Ground Tire Rubber Use in Asphalt
TRB Webinar: Overview and Current Practice of Ground Tire Rubber Use in Asphalt
TRB will conduct a webinar on August 2, 2012, from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. ET that will explore the use ground tire rubber in asphalt products. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor employees. A certificate for 2 Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual.
The utilization of scrap tire rubber in asphalt products started in the mid-1960s for use in asphalt surface treatments as a pavement preservation practice, such as chip seal applications. In the 1970s, ground tire rubber (GTR) in asphalt rubber chip seals was used as a stress absorbing membrane interlayer. Today it is used in asphalt-rubber open graded friction course, hot-applied chips seals, asphalt-rubber dense graded, and warm mix asphalt with rubberized asphalt.
GTR-modified asphalt has evolved due to the enhancement in performance, including resistance to rutting; and thermal, reflective, and fatigue cracking. Reported benefits include reduction in pavement maintenance, smooth ride, good skid resistance, and noise reduction. The increasing cost of polymers has made GTR technology an option for asphalt modification, which has drawn the attention of highway agencies.
This webinar will be an overview of GTR use in asphalt including field and terminal blend of rubberized asphalt. Participants must register at least 24 hours prior to the start of the webinar, space is limited.

Leander Paes-Sania Mirza reach quarter-final

Leander Paes and Sania Mirza made a winning start to their bid for a Olympic Games mixed doubles medal as the Indian duo defeated Serbia’s Nenad Zimonjic and Ana Ivanovic 6-2, 6-4 on Thursday.
With all the Indian men’s and women’s doubles teams eliminated from the Games, Paes and Mirza are their country’s last hope of a medal and they remain in the hunt after a comfortable first round win on Court 14 at Wimbledon.
Next up for Paes and Mirza is a quarter-final clash against Belarusian top seeds Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi.
The Indian pair are playing together in controversial circumstances after Paes demanded an assurance that only he would be paired with Mirza, rather than Mahesh Bhupathi or Rohan Bopanna, following the row over Bhupathi’s refusal to play with Paes in the men’s doubles.
Mirza previously admitted she was uncomfortable at being used as bait to keep Paes happy after winning two Grand Slam titles with Bhupathi.

Anna Hazare and his team members Thursday announced they were calling off their indefinite fast against corruption at 5 p.m. Friday and said they would seek a referendum on forming a "political alternative".
Hazare, who has been on fast at Jantar Mantar since July 29, announced he and Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai were calling off their fast.
Hazare told the gathering that the government was not listening to them and was not willing to pass the Jan Lokpal bill, and asked them if the people wanted a political alternative. The crowd cheered "yes, yes."
Hazare then said: "The time has come to give a political alternative".
He added: "There is no harm in giving a political alternative, but only those people should go to parliament who love the country and have a clean background."
Hazare said he will "not join the system but will support it from outside".
He added that if he decides to support a political alternative, "then I should be sure that no corrupt person has reached parliament. If you want to change the government, then we need to plan and make a system".
He also proposed a kind of a referendum on the political alternative, saying the activists would seek the opinion of 6.5 lakh gram sabhas, or village councils, on whether they would support such a move. And "if four lakh gram sabhas vow to support us, then we can give an alternative."
India Against Corruption media coordinator Aswathi Muralidharan told IANS: "The government is insensitive...it is not passing the Lokpal bill or setting up special teams to probe corruption charges against 14 ministers in the central government."
